I'm very sad to say I won't be attending the Romance Writers of Australia conference in August this year. It's such an amazing event - I've been very fortunate to attend the conference two years in a row.
As I can't make the Melbourne event, I'll be participating in the Clayton's Conference online. I've heard positive feedback about Clayton's and the activities/workshops/speakers on offer, so I'm quite excited. It's great to catch up with other writers and discuss what's new and exciting in the romance writing world, even if it isn't in person.
Who will be joining me for Clayton's, I wonder? Hmm...

Clayton's is AWESOME Mon. I did it in 2006 the first year I was a member of RWA when I had a one month old baby and conf was impossible! I've heard it's got even better since then but we'll miss you at the real event.

It's been about three years or so since my last Claytons, but I will be heading the ranks this year (part of the organising committee). So even though sad face you can't go to Melbourne, Mon, big happy face for joining Claytons. 'See' you there.
Will miss you at conference too, Rach. Wish I could be there :-(

EK, it's funny how you and I could make the conferences over the last two years but can't this year. So I guess we'll be still conferencing (is there such a word?) together again, even though it's online. Woo hoo!!!! Good luck with organising everything :-)

I did it a couple of years ago and I didnt feel left out of all the fun because of it. I was like you and attended two years in a row but this year I wont be able to go either.
I'm not sure if I'll do Claytons this year because I thought I might use that weekend as a writing retreat weekend. In saying that I mean get out of the house for the weekend have some wine with a writer friend and take my laptop. It's almost like going. lol

Kez, your writing retreat sounds like fun! I hope you have a great weekend, whether you choose to do Clayton's or go on your retreat.
Glad I got to meet you at the last conf. Maybe we can catch up again at next year's conf? Fingers crossed we'll be there!
